Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement

This statement is made by Carsons Events LTD (Company No. 14272038), trading as Carson's Castles, in accordance with the spirit of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. Although we fall below the £36 million annual turnover threshold that makes this statement a legal requirement, we are committed to publishing this statement voluntarily as a demonstration of our ethical values and our commitment to responsible business practices. This statement covers the financial year ending 2026 and will be reviewed and updated annually.

1. Our Business

Carson's Castles is a Birmingham-based family business providing inflatable hire, event entertainment and catering services across the West Midlands and nationwide. We operate as Carsons Events LTD, a company registered in England and Wales, with our registered office at 47 Buckland End, Shard End, Birmingham, B34 6LB. Our services include bouncy castle hire, soft play hire, inflatable games, marquee and nightclub hire, catering equipment hire and full event packages for private, corporate and public sector customers across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands.

2. Our Commitment

Carson's Castles has a zero tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking in all its forms. We are committed to:
  • Acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships
  • Implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our business or supply chain
  • Treating every member of our team with fairness, dignity and respect
  • Paying at least the National Living Wage to all employees and workers
  • Ensuring all staff have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom
  • Never using forced, compulsory or trafficked labour
  • Never holding or destroying employees' identity documents
  • Never charging recruitment fees to prospective employees

3. Our Structure & Supply Chain

As a small family business we maintain direct oversight of our operations and employment practices. Our workforce consists of a small team of directly employed staff and occasional contractors who assist with event delivery during peak periods. Our supply chain is relatively straightforward and primarily consists of:
  • Inflatable equipment manufacturers — we source our inflatables from established UK and European manufacturers who operate in regulated markets with strong labour protections
  • Booking platform — we use BouncyCastleNetwork.com as our online booking partner, a UK-based business operating under UK employment law
  • Fuel and vehicle maintenance — sourced from established UK providers
  • Catering supplies — sourced from established UK food suppliers and wholesalers
  • Digital services — website hosting, analytics and advertising services provided by established global technology companies including Google, Microsoft and Cloudflare
Given the nature and scale of our business we consider the risk of modern slavery within our direct operations and supply chain to be low. However we remain vigilant and committed to identifying and addressing any risks that may arise.

4. Due Diligence

To identify and manage the risk of modern slavery within our business and supply chain we take the following steps:
  • Verifying the right to work in the UK for all employees and contractors before engagement
  • Conducting employment checks in accordance with UK employment law requirements
  • Maintaining clear employment contracts that set out the terms and conditions of employment for all staff
  • Paying all employees and workers at least the National Living Wage
  • Encouraging open communication within our team so that any concerns can be raised without fear of reprisal
  • Preferring to work with established, reputable suppliers who operate in regulated markets

5. Risk Assessment

We have assessed the risk of modern slavery within our business and supply chain and consider the overall risk to be low for the following reasons:
  • Our workforce is small and directly managed by the business owners
  • All staff are employed under formal contracts with full employment rights
  • Our supply chain is predominantly UK-based and operates within a regulated legal framework
  • We do not operate in sectors or geographies commonly associated with high modern slavery risk
We will continue to monitor and reassess this risk annually and as our business grows and our supply chain evolves.

6. Training & Awareness

We are committed to ensuring that all members of the Carson's Castles team are aware of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking and know how to identify and report concerns. All new team members are made aware of our modern slavery policy as part of their induction. We encourage any member of our team who suspects modern slavery or human trafficking — whether within our business, our supply chain or in the communities we work in — to report their concerns immediately to the business owner. Concerns can also be reported confidentially to the Modern Slavery Helpline: 📞 0800 0121 700 (free, 24 hours) 🌐 modernslaveryhelpline.org
