Can You Use a Bouncy Castle in Windy Conditions?
It’s never safe to use a bouncy castle in strong wind. High winds or sudden gusts can lift or move the inflatable, putting users at serious risk of injury. Always check the weather forecast before setting up and avoid using a bouncy castle outdoors when wind speeds are high.
Recommended Wind Limits for Safety
According to UK safety standards (BS EN 14960), bouncy castles should not be used when wind speeds exceed 24 mph / 38 kmh. This includes sudden gusts as well as constant winds. If conditions are windy, it’s always safer to postpone your event or move it indoors.
At Carson’s Castles, we take wind safety extremely seriously. We use professional wind-reading gauges onsite and continuously monitor the forecast. You can even check the live wind tracker on our homepage before your booking. If wind speeds reach or exceed 25 mph, we will not set up the inflatable for safety reasons.
What to Do if It’s Too Windy
If the forecast looks unsafe, we’ll happily rearrange your booking free of charge. Your safety always comes first. Our team will advise whether it’s suitable to go ahead, delay, or relocate your castle to an indoor venue.
