Can You Use a Bouncy Castle in the Rain?
Most modern inflatables are manufactured from waterproof PVC and can withstand light showers. However, they should not be used during prolonged or heavy rainfall as the bouncing surface can become slippery and unsafe for users.
If rain starts during your hire, we recommend temporarily switching the inflatable off and waiting for conditions to improve before using it again.
Safety will always take priority over continuing the hire.
What Is Carson’s Castles Bad Weather Policy?
Unlike many hire companies, we don’t believe customers should lose money because of the British weather.
If the forecast is showing significant rainfall, we’ll contact you the day before your booking to discuss the options available via our automatic text system.
Our preferred option is always to rearrange your booking free of charge for another suitable date, ensuring you still get to enjoy your party when the weather is better.
However, we understand that forecasts aren’t always accurate and many customers still wish to go ahead with their booking. If you’re happy to proceed, we’re usually happy to continue with the hire, providing the weather conditions remain safe.
When Will We Contact You?
As a general guide, we’ll normally review bookings where the 24-hour rainfall forecast exceeds approximately 10mm.
This isn’t a strict rule, as forecasts can vary significantly, but it gives us an opportunity to contact customers early and discuss the best option before the day of hire.
Can My Booking Be Cancelled?
Only in extreme weather conditions where we believe setup or operation would be unsafe.
If severe or persistent rainfall makes the inflatable unsuitable for use, Carson’s Castles may make the decision to cancel all outdoor bookings for the safety of our customers and staff.
In these circumstances, customers will always be offered the opportunity to rearrange their booking or receive a full refund where applicable.

Even though forecasts can sometimes be wrong, we’d much rather see your party enjoyed in dry weather than spend the day worrying about whether the inflatable can be used safely.
